A villa dating from 1100 and 1400, surrounded by the green hills of the Illasi Valley, halfway between Verona and Vicenza. Villa de Winckels offers a 3 star hotel, restaurant, two banquet and meeting rooms a cellar, a pizzeria. Family management; the owners are three brothers, Ottavio, Roberto and Massimo Merzari, that have been conducting the activity since 1992 with passion and professionalism.
Hotel ***
10 large and bright rooms, recently restructured with new furniture, light and restfulcolours. Each room has a TV, phone, wi-fi, air conditioning, bar fridge and a safe.Some rooms have got a living room. Inside the Tower, separated from the main building, there is a suite with a terrace onthe top and a 360° view at the Valley. There is a large car park and a children’s playground corner in the garden. Restaurant With little and larger rooms for groups or single guests. It serves dishes of traditional Veneta cuisine reelaborated and combined to typical products of the near by Lessinian landscape. It proposes tasting menus made with seasonal products (eg. asparagus, Veronese radicchio…) with local wines. The restaurant has one section for the preparation of fresh pasta and one for thebakery. The big garden around the Villa permits to have the aperitive outside and also lunch or dinner.
Cellar: Cantina del Generale
In the Cellar the experience of the two somelier owners allows you to offer a largeselection of local and Veneto wines as well as from Italian and foreign regions. In the Cellar you can have wine tasting and buy the wines. You can have dinner withsnacks, cold sliced meats and typical cheese combined with home-made pickles andvegetables in oil.
Pizzeria: Il Roccolo Pizza & Vino
At 5 km., on the top of the hill behind the Villa, there is the Pizzeria, recently opened: handmade pizza with starter yeast and filled with typical Lessinian products, for the most part of our own production.
Meeting rooms Villa de Winckels offers solutions for companies needs: conference and meeting room,courses, dinners… It has 2 rooms, one small up to 50 seats and one large up to 300seats. Both are equipped with wi-fi and internet connection, audio-video devices,microphones, flip chart and airconditioning. We propose a coffee break, work lunches and personalized business dinners. Banquet room Villa de Winckels is specialized in weddings (and banquets) with typical and refinedcuisine, separated hall to share only with your guests. The landscape is suitable for excursions by mountain bike and for walks.The Villa collaborates with local associations that offer a rent service for bikes andguided excursions depending on the clients’ needs. The landscape is rich in naturalist museums (one of the most famous is the Museumof fossils in Bolca), cultural heritage sites, etc. EventsWe propose events periodically linked to the wine and food world; we mentionthe most important: “Appointments with tradition – l’Amarone” organized at about the end of February/beginning of March “Appointments with tradition – il Valpolicella Superiore” organized at about the middle of November. During the events there are about sixty wine producers from the “Zona Classica” and“Allargata” of the Valpolicella area that describe their own wine and allow you to tasteit one. The tasting is associated with a buffet of local products. Cooking class We organize cooking classes with a half-day in the kitchen with the Chef Roberto Merzari and following a lunch or dinner with the dishes prepared during the lesson.Sport andwellnessactivitiesYou can do both a few km. far away from the facility (hot springs, water parks, swimming pools …) and do relaxation, sports and excursion activities.
