A unique experience in the lands of Brunello, in the heart of the Val d’Orcia In Montalcino, a patrician villa in the center of centuries-old park in the midst of expanses of vineyards.
The eight exclusive rooms of the residence,the spaces dedicated to relaxation, yoga and E-bike lessons together with the possibility of wine tasting and cooking class transform the holiday into a journey of pleasure and well-being in absolute privacy and tranquility.
Plunged into the Brunello vineyards, surrounded by centuries-old chestnuts, cherry and olive trees, Villa Le Prata-Residenza del Vescovo is a place where you can immerse yourself in the quiet of nature and the charm of history in a special strip of land in Tuscany: Montalcino.
In the center of a majestic park, Villa Le Prata – built in 1862 – was initially the hunting residence of Count De Vecchi and later the summer residence of the Bishops of Montalcino. Today it has been restored to its initial prestige by Anna Vittoria and Bernardo Losappio who have decided to open the Villa to those who want to live it with the aim of transmitting the authenticity and passion for all that this land has to offer.
The eight rooms have been restored respecting the original function of the ambients, with the desire to enhance their aesthetic pleasure. Each room has a story of it’s own, unique and particular, thanks also to the care with which every single detail has been selected with unique, refined and authentic furnishings to convey attention, comfort and prestige to guests. Each window has a different landscape.
Villa le Prata is a family owned business that produces Brunello di Montalcino Docg, a few bottles obtained solely from Sangiovese grapes. Only three hectares of vineyards whose production, starting from the agronomic and enological choices, is aimed at obtaining an excellent and elegant wine.
The wines produced are Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva “Massimo”.
ROOMS
The rooms offer an immersion in the beauty of Tuscan architecture and thanks to the position of the residence, allow you to wander over the landscapes and hills of Montalcino. All the rooms have a double window from which you can always enjoy a different view.
Each environment is unique thanks to the care with which every single detail has been selected with refined furnishings, all original and vintage. Everything maintains the spirit of the house, every little detail has been taken care of to convey attention, comfort and prestige to the guests.
The rooms are located on the first and second floor of the villa and are accessible – only by stairs – also from an independent entrance on the side of the Villa overlooking the garden.

Vescovo
It’s the room from which the Residence takes its name. It’s dedicated to the bishop of Montalcino who, for over half a century, have chosen Villa Le Prata to spend their moments of rest. The red color creates a warm and sumptuous atmosphere. The original terracotta floors, the golden details, the furnishing accessories and the four-poster bed evoke its spirit. The room is located on the first floor of the villa, overlooking the cypress avenue and the “Vigna del Vescovo”.

Fantastici
The room is dedicated to Agostino Fantastici, esthete, set designer and architect of famous Tuscan palaces, born in Montalcino in 1782. Part of the furnishings are original creations of the architect, who represents one of the most important exponents of the Tuscan neoclassical culture. The four-poster bed and the wooden floors of the Villa complete and embellish the room. The room is located on the first floor of the Villa with a view of the sunset and the “Vigna Massimo”.

San Prospero
The room overlooks the “San Prospero” vineyard, and contains all the colors of the territory. The original terracotta of the Villa to remember the ocher of the Crete Senesi, the dove gray of the walls evokes the marl of the Montalcino land, the ancient furnishings reproduce the authentic setting of the Villa. The room is located on the first floor.

Le Prata
The room overlooks the first vineyard of the company: “Le Prata”. The parquet, the carpet, the warm earth tones, the view of the sunset and the park make it a particularly intimate and welcoming room. The room is located on the first floor of the Villa.

La Secreta
On the second floor of the Villa, with a sitting room that acts as an antechamber, it overlooks the vineyards and the profile of Montalcino. The blue of the armchairs, the mahogany of the furnishings and of the desk reflect the warmth of the fine carpets. The room is embellished with a 16th century door placed where once a hidden wardrobe kept the secrets of the villa. Hence the name “Secreta”.

Ippocrate
It is the room dedicated to Massimo Losappio, professor, doctor, man of great passions, who in 1980 bought Villa le Prata. Each detail recreates an atmosphere of calm and study with elegance and refinement. The light from the south illuminates the precious sofa, the headboard, the warmth of the parquet and carpets recall wellbeing. The room is located on the second floor of the Villa.

Tirso
The room takes its name from the symbol of the vine and Dionysus. Doric columns, shoots carved into the precious headboard, two splendid views of the territory. A warm atmosphere of pleasure and well-being.
The room is on the second floor of the Villa, looking towards Montalcino and sweeping over the woods and vineyards that surround the residence.

For the first months of activity, Villa Le Prata, was the atelier of the Spanish painter Carlos Prieto, defined by the prestigious Rolling Stone magazine as “the young prodigy of Spanish painting” who after Paris, New York and Rome chose the Villa to create his “new Renaissance”. Today, after the painter’s return home, the room remains a tribute to one of the distinctive features of the company: The love for art. Located on the second floor of the residence, it overlooks the cypress-lined avenue that crosses the Park and the vineyards and woods of Montalcino.

La Villa: a historical mansion, quiet and elegnat for an unforgettable experience
You can access the Villa by crossing a magnificent 19th century wrought iron gate and along the cypress-lined avenue that crosses the park and the vineyards.
The Bishop’s Residence was built respecting the original function of the rooms, with the desire to transform every space into a warm welcome moment.
Inside the Villa, where the carriages once entered, one is welcomed into a space that time has transformed into the central hall. A large and bright environment embellished by the characteristic vaulted ceilings.
From the hall you can access the tasting room and the “Cellar of the old vintages” where the historical productions of the company are kept.
Also on the ground floor is the breakfast room, from which through a large window it is possible to appreciate the open kitchen with its large fireplace and wood-burning oven. Here or in the lovely garden you can have breakfast in the morning or dinners that our Staff can organize on request.
On the first floor the “Reading Room”, embellished with a fireplace and a splendid library, stocked with historical books, designed by the neoclassical architect Agostino Fantastici, the ideal meeting place for a moment of relaxation, reading or to taste the precious wines of Villa Le Prata.
The park: well-being for body and soulc
The park is the place where you live unique atmospheres and experiences surrounded by centuries-old chestnut, cherry, olive trees and vineyards just a few steps from the rooms. In the park, which extends for about two hectares, spaces dedicated to moments of absolute peace have been set up – in order to guarantee privacy and tranquility – such as the area dedicated to tastings, picnics and aperitifs in the shade of the chestnut trees. The lawn embellished by the winter garden surrounds the Villa, an ideal setting for breakfasts, light lunches and dinners proposed by the Villa.
The swimming pool: the perfect combination of wellness and nature
Recently built, in travertine, at the foot of the park, there are a hot tub and an infinity pool overlooking the Brunello vineyards. The ideal place where our guests can relax and enjoy the magnificent Montalcino sunsets with a glass of wine.

The reserved parking inside the park is completely free and also has a charging station for electric cars, the use of which is also free. Access is also guaranteed at night through a side entrance with a code.
The buffet breakfast with table service is included in the stay and is served from 08:00 to 10:30.
To meet the anti-contagion regulations and to protect guests, if necessary, shifts will be organized to avoid the presence of too many people.
The kitchen of the structure is open all day with proposals for every moment of the day light lunch / aperitif / dinner.
All dishes are prepared with selected Tuscan ingredients, mainly of biological origin and 0 km. We offer fresh artisanal products, handmade or in any case based on the availability and seasonality of the products.
There is the possibility of organizing customized events on request in the spaces of the Villa, both internal and external.
The concierge service is available to meet every need such as booking tours, restaurants, tourist guides, cycling and walking tours, car rental reservations, private transfers.

Villa le Prata è un’azienda a conduzione familiare che produce Brunello di Montalcino Docg, poche bottiglie ottenute unicamente da uve Sangiovese. Solo tre ettari di vigneto la cui produzione, a partire dalle scelte agronomiche ed enologiche, è volta ad ottenere un vino eccellente ed elegante.
I vini prodotti sono Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino e Brunello di Montalcino Riserva “Massimo”.
